Crafting Green Spaces - Welcome to Our Journey
Bespoke Functional Designs
Hello!
Welcome to our Substack page - a unique space where art meets nature.
As a 3D designer, I've always been fascinated by the intersection of form and function, aesthetics and utility. But it was when I channeled this fascination towards creating bespoke planters that a whole new world unfurled. The world of 'Bespoke Functional Designs'.
Imagine the beauty of plants nurtured in a vessel tailored specifically for them, where every curve and edge serves a purpose. Through 3D printing, I craft planters that are more than mere containers for your greenery. They are artistic pieces that add character to your space and perfectly complement the verdant life they hold.
The Journey
In this journey, you'll get an insider's view of the process, inspirations, challenges, and triumphs involved in creating these functional designs. You'll learn about sustainable 3D printing, discover the diverse range of planter designs, and get tips on choosing the perfect one for your space.
Customer requests
Here is a great example of a new customer request. I was asking on another forum about what to plant in a fairly unremarkable brown planter that a customer returned. I received so many great ideas from the community, which I’ll detail in another post, but it lead to a conversation about orchid planters. The summary was basically, they are all boring and expensive! So I set out to put my own stamp on them. I made a design using Greek pillars. But it also was a bit plain. So I added a twist, literally, and the rest is history to be made.

I thought that this would be a great way to add a unique element that also let’s the roots of the orchid have access to air and drainage.
